Forever Winter

Post by Kiri Artemis »

Anyone played this one? Seems like it would be the kind of thing that at least a few people here would have played.

It's got co-op, so I'm interested.

I've played a fair bit of it,
It's a co-op pveve extraction shooter, where shooting is very often the worst option.
I've played it off and on pretty much since release. The most recent I played it was late last year with a friend, so the following opinions may be slightly dated:
When it's good, it's a tense and memorable, almost voyueristic experience where just managing to traverse a single obstacle or bring home a bag full of scrap can feel like a victory.
When it's bad, it's a lot of grind with lots of early access bugginess

Definitely a spectacle, sometimes horrifying, sometimes beautiful, (sometimes silly)

(Also I have several railguns assembled and can never find enough friends playing at once to actually get use out of them, everyone is welcome to message me here or on discord, if they need a +1, (with or without railgun parts))

I love FW!! I haven't actually played THAT much of it because I played thirty-odd hours shortly after the VERY early early access launch, and have been kind of saving it for the next prime time (big update, friends interested, an overwhelming urge to die in the trenches, etc).

I'd definitely be interested in some co-op though! I've never really explored any of the harder content because I've mostly done solo scavenging.

Also, I recently found out that some of the team working on this are folks that worked on Hawken. Which made a lot of things click, both about the aesthetic and art direction, and also about the dev cycles ( :? )
